About Me

My photo
Welcome. My name is Lisa and I live on a farm in Northeastern PA. I have a wonderful husband of over 30 years and two fabulous sons. One with a wonderful wife and another with a wonderful girlfriend. I have a 6 year old granddaughter and an 4 year old grandson. We have a dog, two cats, and 5 horses. I started into this art as a possible scrapbooker until my good friend Lou Ann (SCS Crooked Stamper) invited me to a Stampin' Up party. Now I'm hooked. We had to turn a room of our home into a craft room for all my stuff. Then I needed a second craft room and did classes. Then I decided to open an in home store using three more rooms of our home. Between Lou Ann (Crafter and IT department) and Mary Ann (Crafter and Jewelry department) and a few other friends, I'm having the time of my life!!!!

Grateful 7/4

I got the idea for this card from a picture that hangs in Mane St. Hair and Nails, where I get my pampering done.  The flag appears to be old painted boards with a painted metal star.  Every time I see it I think, "I could do that with some of the dsp I have at home.  So this is what I did.  The Declaration of Independance I had in my stash.  I don't remember from where.  I distressed it with my TH distressing tool, rolled it in a couple of places and inked it with TH Distress Vintage Photo.  The flag is made up of My Mind's Eye "On the Bright Side - Two".  They were a little wide so I cut them in half and distressed them with TH Distress Black Soot.
I used TH Distress Stormy Sky for the upper left of flag.  The star I got at our local Ben Frankling store, and I think it's a Darcie.  I goobed (technical term) TH Snow Cap Paint Dauber on it and let it dry for about an hour.  I then took a nail file and scraped the paint off the raised areas.   I used  pop-dots to stick on the star. The little nails on the "wood" was done with a Sharpie marker.
The sentiment is from SU Small Script set.  I thought that it was very fitting for the card.  I know, although I get a little upset with the things that go on in this country, there is no where else I'd rather be. I'm also grateful to all the men and women who risk their lives for the safety of mine.
