About Me

My photo
Welcome. My name is Lisa and I live on a farm in Northeastern PA. I have a wonderful husband of over 30 years and two fabulous sons. One with a wonderful wife and another with a wonderful girlfriend. I have a 6 year old granddaughter and an 4 year old grandson. We have a dog, two cats, and 5 horses. I started into this art as a possible scrapbooker until my good friend Lou Ann (SCS Crooked Stamper) invited me to a Stampin' Up party. Now I'm hooked. We had to turn a room of our home into a craft room for all my stuff. Then I needed a second craft room and did classes. Then I decided to open an in home store using three more rooms of our home. Between Lou Ann (Crafter and IT department) and Mary Ann (Crafter and Jewelry department) and a few other friends, I'm having the time of my life!!!!

From the Heart.......

This is a card I did for a recent Designer Spotlight Class at The Craft Shack.  The Spotlight was on Judith and Heather. They are such a talented pair of designers and papercrafters.   I just LOVE their cute stamps.  I can't sell them on-line, but stop in the store and I've got penty.

First, using quick drying dye ink for watercolors, I stamped the small square on a piece of scrap paper and a piece of Neenah Premium 110lb Cardstock. It works great when you're doing alot of inking.

Next, cut the square from the scrap paper and lay it over the square on you cardstock using my Tim Holtz scissors.  This is called masking.  Stamp the giraffe right over the masked image of the square.  When you remove the mask you have an empty square.  Yipee!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        I then used the scrap paper and put it over the cardstock so that only the square was showing.  Then I stamped a bunch of hearts with my Kaleidacolor ink.  Take away the scrap mask and you see that all your hearts are in the square.

I used 3D Crystal Lacquer on the hearts to give them a shiny look.  Then I stamped "from the heart...." with a Judith and Heather Skinny.

Judith and Heather always color gray around their images to make them stand out. I used my Tombow marker N95

Next, I used my EK Tools Heart Confetti Punch along to right side of a piece of black cardstock.  I then adhered it to a piece of red cardstock.   And.................tada....................

Thanks for looking.   Lisa

Kiss Me Valentine - Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2016 Technique Remix - February

It's time for February's Tag.  This month Tim's techniques are Monoprint and Embossed Texture Paste.

Monoprint
Textured Embossing Paste

I started with a #10 tag and applied Tim Holtz Antique Linen Stain  over the entire card.  Then I inked the back of my Tim Holtz  Lace Stencil    with Frayed Burlap Ink. Two similar colors and one great look! Before I did the Textured Emboss I wanted to ink some Fired Brick hearts in opposite corners using Tim's Hearts Stencil and a little dauber.  For the Textured Embossing Paste I used Liquitex Modeling Paste on my TCW  Complicated Hearts Stencil and sprinkled with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. You need to wait until the Modeling Paste dries, then heat set.  If you do it before the paste is dry, you get bubbles.  I may have been a little hasty with mine, but I LOVE the results.  I then used Tim's new stamp set Ponderings with Black Versafine ink. Isn't that a great sentiment?
It was time to pull out my treasure box of goodies.  I matted the picture of Tim's sweethearts from his Paper Stash/Lost and Found with his dark red Kraft-Core paper.  I wrapped and knotted a bit of twine and glued an Antique Nickel Arrow underneath.  I used the number 14 from the Game Pieces set and attached it on top of a scrap of cheesecloth.  I also used cheesecloth under the KISS word stick.  And I topped it all off with Tim's Crinkle Ribbon colored with  Fired Brick Stain.

Dumpster Diving for a Valentine Card

Hi All!  Today I'm going to tell you about me recent "Dumpster Dive".   I'm not much at recycling things, so this is pretty new to me.  I was working on doing a couple more February ATC's from Lou Ann's ATC Class and I noticed how cool the cherub looked with the red behind the waste of the Tim Holtz Deco Sheets.  I was going to make 2 more Valentine cards for Keith & Amy and Donnie & Jerika, so I thought I'd try to use them.  I also thought I'd use the little heart that was punched out to make an opening in the shaker part of the card. I used my Signo Uni-ball White Pen to write XOXO and a little curved line to give it some dimension.

I used some old 6x6 Echo Park Valentine paper that had a few more pieces in the pack.  Finally I used my Versa-fine Onyx Black Ink (theVERY best ink for stamping sentiments) and Lawn Fawn's Happy Everything Stamps.  This stamp set has so many occasions, it's a must have.  And I love the font!

Tada!!!!!!  My finished card.
