Christmas Wishes

'Twas the week after Christmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, except for Lisa, who was trying to get her cards uploaded.

Well, I did get a bit of creating done, and much thanks to Maja Design for their "I Wish" paper collection for the inspiration.

With their Ephemera paper there are 6 images for cardfronts, 8 postage stamps, 1 sentiment and, as always with Maja Design, an extra strip along the bottom of the paper with additional goodies.  In this case, it's the adorable "Christmas Greetings" on the tag.  The card almost made itself.

Using a white cardstock base, the next layer up was some green paper from the "I Wish For Peace and Joy".  I distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz Distresser, then gutted it because I knew with all the layers I had to cut down on the weight.  The next was a little corner of red is the "I Wish Christmas Was Today" paper.  Again, little weight.  The next layer is from "I Wish For Frosty Mornings" paper.  I wet my finger and ran it along the edges to soften the fibers and curled the paper inward.  Then a rolled the upper left corner and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The focal image is from the Ephemera paper and I mounted on some of the gutted green.  I used the red plaid again, and put a on a tiny tag and flower.  That sentiment is from the extra strip I told you about.  I wrapped twine around three fingers three times and tied it in the middle with another piece of twine with a tiny jingle bell in the middle.  I used glue dots to attach it to a little strip of brown and white gingham from the "I Wish You A Merry Christmas" paper.  Also from that paper came the little sleigh in the white resin frame.  I used scraps of cheesecloth and lace too!

Joy

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.  I hope your day was as filled with joy as mine.  Which brings me to my card "Joy".  This is the card that I sent to all but the Gigglers this year.  It was very simple and quick and WYSIWYG.

Christmas Greetings

WOW!  It's been so long since I posted that I almost forgot how.  But let me tell you, I've got a tag that used almost everything in my craft room.  This was the Christmas card (or tag) I made for the Gigglers this year.  I made a different (easier one) for everyone else. 

     I started out with a 8 X 4 tag from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  Linda (the owner) has the best prices around, but due to her moving her home, she's closed until 1-20-13.  But mark your calenders because when she reopens, she's having a discount on her already low prices. 

Looks start at the top and work our way down.  The background has been done in Distress inks of Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky.  I distressed the border with the Tim Holtz Distressing Tool and sponged with Distress Vintage Photo.  Then a spritzed it with Sparkle.   The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I LOVE their stamps.  Using a blending tool I colored the die cut tree with DI Pine Needles and Vintgage Photo. 

On to the roof!  This is Tim Holtz's Rickety House die.  I embossed it with Distress Embossing Powder which gave it a sandpapery texture.  I used the plastic packing that came with the die to used on both the upstairs and downstairs windows.  For the upstairs window treatment I used some lace and some material I had in my material box.  Right under the roof I used some Paper Studio pearls for lights.  

For the house itself I used the TH Bricked embossing folder, first coloring the debossed side with DI Black Soot.  Using a blending tool I rubbed on Fired Brick and then I used the ink pad directly on the embossing giving it a two-tone brick look.  The wreath is TH Movers and Shapers die cut wreath using TH Coreordinates paper.  I then embossed it with SU Square Lattice ef, and sanded it to show the core.  Next was some Distress Peeled Paint Stickles.  The bow (from the same die set) is SU Cherry Cobbler and Distress Rock Candy Crackle Paint.  Besides the clear plastic in the window, it also used cardstock with DI Squeezed Lemonade.  I didn't want you to see right though the house.  Right?  The deer I found at the Fairy Garden center of the Country Cupboard in Lewisburg, PA.  An EK punch supplied the snowman, with Shoestring Paper frosting for the body and nose.  The hat is made of felt, of course.  His scarf, a scrap of material.  The snowy hill in the back is SU Shimmery White. 



A TH die made the fence with DI Vintage Photo for color.  Some Flower Soft Polar White for the frosty tips and a light strand from a mini tree decoration section at Hobby Lobby.  The name plate was done on my computer and punch with my SU small oval.  I used a couple eyelets and jump rings to connect the red and white bakers twine from SU. 

For each giggler, I typed their last name for the sign and their house numbers beside the deer to make it personal. 

WMSC115 Ho Ho Ho

Hi all!  I'm back with another sketch challenge card.  Jennifer Holmes was brought us WMSC115, and it's a cutie.  I haven't done a Christmas card yet, and I thought this would be a great one.  I used stamps from three different Waltzingmouse sets and I think they go great with each other.  My dsp is an oldie but a goodie from  SU.  And accessories from all over the place.

I used silver on the the presents and the brads holding up the sentiment that I pushing in a little so that the middle popped out.  I also used Encore Metallic Silver with SU Silver embossing powder for the HoHoHo and snowflakes   And what can I say about the Waltzmouse Christmas Stamps.  They are all so stinkin' cute I  used one from each set I have.

Very Merry Snowmen

That old Staming' Up Great Groupings stamp set is still a goodie. I went to buy an Around the Page Punch (MS) for this project, then I got home and "What to my wondering eyes did appear, then another MS punch, I'm a dumb one, that's clear". But before doing another duplicate swap with my friend "Crooked Stamper" I noticed that the old punch had so many different snowflakes that punched out. Cool embellishments.  I made this with Stampin' Up Bashful Blue and Whisper White cardstock (I'm really using alot of Blue this year).  Memento Tuxedo Blue ink and Tombow markers made the snowmen.   I also used Marvy snow Marker for the 3D snowballs.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Short and Sweet and punched with the Stampin' Up Word Window and Modern Label.

A bottle of Cheer

This is my first Wine Topper Tag.  I bought wine bags, forgetting that I could make something that looked better.  (At least I thought so)    The tag is made from a 5 1/2" X 3 1/4" SU Bashful Blue Cardstock.  The width was important for using my Martha Stewart aournd the page corner and boarder punches.  I scored the tag at 2" and used a SU 1 1/4" circle punch for the neck of the bottle.  The Cheer stamp is from Inkadinkako.  The embellishment is a Memory Box Snowflake Corner die and I used some glitter white cardstock.

The True Meaning of Christmas

I had seen this Inkadinkado stamp at the Hobby Lobby and a stamp by Stampendous with the sentiment The most precious gift of Christmas arrived in a very small bundle with no bow.  I just had to buy them both because they just seemed to go together.  I used SU Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and then  sponged over it with SU Crumb Cake.  The edges were distressed with a Tim Holtz distressing tool and torn.  I cut a small piece of burlack and frayed the edges.  I inked the image with SU Soft Suede and die cut it with a Spellbinder Deckled Oval Die. 

Oh Come Let Us Adore Him



I did this card for the Dolce Stamp Thursday Metallic/Shine Challenge.  The image and setiment is from the Stampin' Up Come to Bethlehem.   I used SU Brocade Blue and Basic Black for the cardstock.  The ink is Memento Tuxedo Black.  That beautiful star was done using Hygloss Gold Mirror Board and Star of Wonder die from Memory Box.

Believe II

I just got some new Memory Box dies from Ellen Hutson LLC.  For this card I used the Elegant Scrollwork and the Country Landscape.  The dies cut so cleanly that many people think the silver is wire.  It's actually Silver Mirror Board.   The stamps are from AMuse and Stampin' Up. The card was easy to do, but the only thing you can't see is that I used Tsukineko Sparkle Shimmer Spritz. This is going to be my main XMas card this year.  Hope you like it.
