About Me

My photo
Welcome. My name is Lisa and I live on a farm in Northeastern PA. I have a wonderful husband of over 30 years and two fabulous sons. One with a wonderful wife and another with a wonderful girlfriend. I have a 6 year old granddaughter and an 4 year old grandson. We have a dog, two cats, and 5 horses. I started into this art as a possible scrapbooker until my good friend Lou Ann (SCS Crooked Stamper) invited me to a Stampin' Up party. Now I'm hooked. We had to turn a room of our home into a craft room for all my stuff. Then I needed a second craft room and did classes. Then I decided to open an in home store using three more rooms of our home. Between Lou Ann (Crafter and IT department) and Mary Ann (Crafter and Jewelry department) and a few other friends, I'm having the time of my life!!!!

Discover the Wonder

It's July and time for the Tim Holtz Technique Remix and this month it's featuring Layered Words and Watercolor Resist.  You can click the link to get his tutorial

Luckily, we have Lou Ann!  She is the first to read about his techniques that he is using, and then she shows our group how to do them.  One thing that we stress is NOT to copy his tags, only his techniques.  But we also don't want to copy each other.  And with several of us doing the tags, we really have to dig deep for original tags.  To see them all, check out our Facebook page to see all the tags we did.  I hang out with some really creative crafters.

We were a little challenged because we only had two sets of block words.  I used the Holiday Words #2 die set for the "WONDER" and the Adventure die set for the "discover the".

The books are from the Schoolhouse Blueprints Stamp Set. and I used several Distress Ink Pads that I squished on my craft sheet and picked up the color with my Detailer Brush.  Then I applied Distress Glaze over my image,  This sealed my image so I could use my wide water brush  with more ink.  The READ letters are from Tim's Letter Tiles and I used the Tim Holtz Pen Nibs as a bit of a metal embellishment.  As a topper I used three colors of jute.

Hope you like it, and  TFL!
