About Me

My photo
Welcome. My name is Lisa and I live on a farm in Northeastern PA. I have a wonderful husband of over 30 years and two fabulous sons. One with a wonderful wife and another with a wonderful girlfriend. I have a 6 year old granddaughter and an 4 year old grandson. We have a dog, two cats, and 5 horses. I started into this art as a possible scrapbooker until my good friend Lou Ann (SCS Crooked Stamper) invited me to a Stampin' Up party. Now I'm hooked. We had to turn a room of our home into a craft room for all my stuff. Then I needed a second craft room and did classes. Then I decided to open an in home store using three more rooms of our home. Between Lou Ann (Crafter and IT department) and Mary Ann (Crafter and Jewelry department) and a few other friends, I'm having the time of my life!!!!

OCCC Red Congrats

Happy Friday.  I've been really busy these last couple of days watching my grandkids.  So fun...so exhausting.  And now I'm having issues with my computer, or my camera card, or, let's face it, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to the techie world.  I downloaded a new picture program and whenever I do that it's always an issue for a while when I try to get to my pictures (which explains my poor photo crop on this post).  Anyway OCCC has a great challenge called "Office Supplies with a Twist"  So make a card using office supplies, with a twist of red. Cool, huh!  So what better card then a Congratulations card for a person with a new teaching job.  So with my stamps, paper, ink, red paper clip, binder clip, red pencil, red "Sign Here sticky, red string, staples, red push pin, and extras from my paper crafting hero, The Funkie Junkie, I   went to work on  the project,  I didn't like my first scissors so I did another using clear embossing powder.  It was a new sealed jar so I had to take off the plastic with my micro-tip scissors.  Guess what?  I cut my pointer finger and bleed like you wouldn't believe.  I almost got blood on my card, which, being red, maybe wasn't such a bad idea.  I bleed for my craft.  Haha!  The only things of note are 1) The embossed scissors, and 2) the gold embossed Congratulations with the red marked in between the gold bars.  Hope you enjoy.  And click on my links in this post.  You'll be glad you did.  Thanks,  Lisa

  2. I LOVE your card, Lisa. It's just too cute! The red looks awesome against the distressing and sponged edges and all the office supplies you incorporated work beautifully! I think your new teacher friend is going to love it! Hope your finger is healing nicely - who knew paper crafting could be so dangerous? And you have me blushing at your kind words about being your paper crafting hero, thank you for that! So great to have you joining in with us again this week at Our Creative Corner.
