WMSC121 Get Well Shirley

One of the Gigglers has been in the hospital for a fews days and, of course, the Gigglers plan on loading her mailbox with cards.  As usual, I needed help with the design so I checked out this week's Waltzingmouse Challenge 121. Jeanne Jachna has come up with a cute sketch that I thought was perfect. I did change the two panels on the left to be one piece of dsp with Zva Pearls to go down the middle.

Back to the SCS Challenges today with this weeks Color Challenge and Sketch Challenge.  The Color Challenge was to use Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Primrose Petals, and a Neutral of choice.  I picked Basic Black.  Dessert Option of lace.  Nice job Peggy.  With such a pink pallette, I went for a girly theme with vintage dressmaking.  The only notable thing was that I used Very Vanilla for the SU Netting block stamp with Primrose petals because I didn't have any dsp with that color.  Also I used Glossy Accents for the scissors.  Taylor has a great sketch for my card. And here's what I came up with.....

"Game Night" ATC swap

Hello everyone!  I've taken another of my creative breaks, and have been trying to organize my craft room.  Now that I've started I can't think of any cards to make.  But I do have an ATC that I haven't posted yet.  It was done for the October Stampin' Up party at the home of fellow Giggler Mary Ann.  We had an ATC swap for our group and I wish you could see them all.  The Gigglers are all so talented.  You can see a couple of them at Lou Ann's blog, and Diane's blog.  PLEASE take a look at these pint sized treasures.  They are incredible. 

This little 3 1/2 X 2 1/2 card came to me when I found a bag of 54 mini playing cards and a bag of mini puzzle pieces.  One day I decided to separate the cards by suite, only to find out that it was a complete deck.  That was the start.  I have several game stamp sets, by the pieces are too big for an ATC.  Enter Shrinky Dinks.  A plastic that you stamp, color and bake to have an image that's about 1/3 of the size.  That's what I did for the Cowboy Poker chip, Sorry game pieces, dice, and Chess Knight.  The Game Night arrow was die cut with a cute little Verve die that I had just gotten in the mail.  Love that Verve.  The checkerboard was pretty tough.  I searched for paper, material, stamps, anything with a red and black checkerboard, and nothing.  So my DH said  "Did you check the internet for a picture you could copy and reduce."   DUH!  I covered it with UTEE for a nice shine.  Last, but not least, the puzzle. 

When I poured them out of the bag I notice a couple were contacted, just like a regular puzzle.  I thought it would be nice to put a few pieces together.  Have you ever tried to put together teeny tiny puzzle pieces of a 500 piece puzzle?  It is a challenge.  But I liked it.  Hopefully you will too.  Thanks for looking.

Mary Ann's October Birthday

     Well, for the month of October we had only one Birthday Girl in the Gigglers.  It was Mary Ann, who just LOVES Halloween.  She always has a Stampin' Up party in October and between the decorations and the food you know she has a Halloween baby.  She also LOVES ATC's. (If you're not familiar with ATC's, they are Artistic Trading Cards measuring 3 1/2 X 2 1/2.  They can be traded, but not sold).  So size and content was already picked by her.  I just had to put it all together. 

     I picked The Artistic Outpost for my images.  Black was the color for the card itself.    After inking my background of the cardfront, I stamped the frame and vines/leaves.  On the frame I stamped Black Soot DI, then stamped it with Embossing ink and covered it the UTEE.  I was a little disappointed with the effect, so I used a Q-tip and Black Archival ink to add more darkness.  I sponged the edges with Black Soot DI.  Next I die-cut an oval and added the skeleton cameo, which is also embossed.  She looked a little plain, so I gave her some black pearl earrings and necklace.  A girl's gotta have her bling, right?  I then just taped it to the back of the ATC front. 

     Inside I blended color on the vanilla cs, added a die-cut spider web and a few punched spiders.  The sentiment I typed on my computer.  Hope you like it..........
