About Me

My photo
Welcome. My name is Lisa and I live on a farm in Northeastern PA. I have a wonderful husband of over 30 years and two fabulous sons. One with a wonderful wife and another with a wonderful girlfriend. I have a 6 year old granddaughter and an 4 year old grandson. We have a dog, two cats, and 5 horses. I started into this art as a possible scrapbooker until my good friend Lou Ann (SCS Crooked Stamper) invited me to a Stampin' Up party. Now I'm hooked. We had to turn a room of our home into a craft room for all my stuff. Then I needed a second craft room and did classes. Then I decided to open an in home store using three more rooms of our home. Between Lou Ann (Crafter and IT department) and Mary Ann (Crafter and Jewelry department) and a few other friends, I'm having the time of my life!!!!

Best Wishes

Well, as I went throught the SCS challenges I combined the Card Sketch Challenge (SC387) with the Color Challenge (CC377).  Great sketch and great colors.  So I made a nice wedding card.  Who doesn't need them in the spring and summer, right?  Just before posting I went over the the Clean and Simple Challenge (CAS172) just to find out the theme this week is Love.  Bing, bang, boom.....I give you "Best Wishes"

I had a little trouble with the color challenge.  1)  I didn't have any Soft Suede paper, so I took white paper and colored it with a Soft Suede marker.  It looks a little dark, but it is Soft Suede.  2)  The leaves is the Certainly Celery were so light that I outlined them with Certainly Celery marker.

For the ribbon I used the ribbon that was tied unto my thank you gift from my purchases at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.   Besides my order I was sent some adorable butterflies made from corrugates cardboard in a glassine packet tied with that beautiful hand dyed rayon seam binding.  Linda also has a great tutorial on how to do it yourself.

Anyway, here is my clean, colored, card sketch.  If you've never done a SCS challenge I suggest you give it a whirl.

Life

I hope everyone is enjoying their first big holiday weekend of the summer season.  Once again I am posting a card that I made for the SCS swap in Buffalo.  This card was for the Stampin' Up Only card front swap, which means current SU products only.   Well, I started a card front, but kept adding to it, so I ended up with a tri-shutter card.    And nobody teaches it better than SCS with their tutorial.

Open it up a little..........

Lay it flat...........

SC386 - Keith's Birthday

Tomorrow is my oldest son's birthday.  He is a Health & PE teacher at our local high school, and also teaches a survival class.  On Memorial weekend the class has their final exam in an undisclosed location (our farm) in the woods.  So he'll be conducting team building, survival, making shelters and getting food challenges.  Due to that, I needed to give him his card today.  When did I make it?  Tonight!  My DH pointed out that I've known for a year about his birthday.  I disagreed and told him I've know for 29 years. LOL.
Anyway, I wanted to do a manly, outdoorsy card.  I used three stamp sets to do it.   An all time record for me.  And I also combined it with this weeks SCS Card Sketch Challenge #386 .

Grandma's Kitchen ATC

What a week for me.  I've been watching my grandkids, which I love, but I'm getting pooped.  But the fun I'm having is priceless.  I wasn't a SAHM, so this is my chance.  Anyway, I got some cards and ATC's ready to post so here's an older one:

This is an ATC card that  I made for an SCS swap in NY.  One of the requirments of the swap is an embellishment, which I originally didn't have and couldn't think of one.  Enter Lou Ann.  She knew I had silverware brads and suggested that.  Great idea!  Thanks Lou Ann.

Lou Ann's Birthday

As I promised yesterday (or last night) I have the Birthday Card I did for Lou Ann.  We have been friends for decades and whenever we go to a scrapbook convention or overnight swap we always room together.  We both like to go to sleep with the TV on (Criminal Minds, if we can find it) and LOVE our Pepsi.   The perfect roomie.
But, back to last night, most of the NEPA (Northest PA) Gigglers were there to celebrete and shower her with great cards.  Wish you could see them all.  If you go to Diane's Blog you can see the adorable card she made for Lou Ann.  Anyway, here is mine:

It's a double Z fold, which are SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOO easy!  A 5 1/2 X 12 scored at 2, 4, 8, 10 inches and make a couple "Z's".  Splitcoast has a tutorial on it if you like it.  I couldn't find a die cut that really fit for the sentiment, so I just cut it by hand.   And here is the inside.....

Well, this is my ATC swap.  I got the idea from the paper pack from Graphic 45 called Le Cirque.  Add in some Tim Holtz and wala....

A Thought

Splitcoast Double Whammy Challenge SC385 and CC375

I really had to dig into my dsp to find something with Navy, Orange and Light Blue, but I did it.  Basic Grey came through for me.  I also used two items that I got from two different SCS swaps (the buttons and twine).  And I had to do a little redo of the blue ribbon, which originally had pom-poms, but they just didn't look right.  Enter----scissors; exit---pom-poms.

Grinning on the Inside

Two challenges in two days.  Looks like I'm on a roll.  Debbie Carriere made an adorable sketch for this challenge from the Ribbon Carousel and I had to play.  The only thing that isn't a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) are the pearls.  I seem to have every color there is, except for gray.  My very good friend and fellow giggler Diane (aka Splitcoaststamper's own Cookiestamper) of http://papercookies.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ told me about coloring pearls or bling with copic markers and it worked great!  Thanks Diane.

Happy Mothers Day

Wow!  It's been over 2 months since my last post.  I'm having a hard time remembering how to do this.   And as you can see my photography skills need to be sharpened up.  Actually, I was late to pick my Mom up for dinner and my craft table was such a mess I didn't have room for my little light tent, so I just took this among the mess.    But enough of that.  Today is Mothers Day and I made this for my wonderful Mom!  This card started with the pretty floral paper and everything just fell into place.

Stamps:  SU-Well Scripted; Verve Hope Blooms
Paper:  SU- Whisper White, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade; My Minds Eye- On the Bright Side;  Some blue paper I had in my stash.
Ink:  Color Box Wicked Black
